Dan lead us in a summary of Chapter 7 of “The Shepherd Leader.” “The church is called to serve God in three ways; in worship, in nurturing the saints, and witnessing to the world.” p.157 We prayed for several members of the church by name and asked God to give us the wisdom to lead his flock. The new library shelves and new visitors center in the foyer is in the works. Due to the generous donations the final product will be upgraded. Look for them before September arrives. Pastor Mark will plan an Outreach to Fort Gordon Brainstorming Session for later this month. We need those who work on base or are active in the military to give us their ministry ideas. Veritas Academy and a Classical Conversations group started to benefit from our facilities this week. They have 110 and 60 students and meet on Monday and Thursday. We received letters of thanks from The Liberia Project, Ridge Haven, and the Augusta Care Pregnancy Center. Progress is being made on the sale of the Fulcher property. The team has met with an appraiser and needs to have a surveyor subdivide the property. We have registered as an Amazon Smile beneficiary. Ted and Mark will met with several women of the church to discuss ministry possibilities and improving communication. Our Discipleship program will be expanded in October. See Pastor Mark if you are willing to disciple, or be discipled, one on one. The Family Nurture Team will meet with all the willing families of the church on August 18th after the Splish Splash event to discuss how they can come alongside the families in the discipleship of their children. We discussed several issues in executive session. Please pray for your elders as they seek to ministry grace and wisdom in very difficult and personal situations.
